Preparation Work before Starting the Ball Mill

Ball mills are widely used in mining, metallurgy, cement and other industries and are an important part of the grinding system. Before starting the ball mill, you must be cautious and fully prepared.

1. Safety awareness, shift procedures and common tools

(1) Wear work clothes and bring all other safety labor protection supplies;

(2) Check the production records of the previous shift and listen carefully to the operation situation of the previous shift;

(3) Prepare common tools (special wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.) according to production requirements.

2. Conduct a comprehensive inspection of all equipment and facilities of the grinding system

(1) All parts of the equipment should be intact, installed correctly, and all fixing bolts should not be loose;

(2) Whether the lubricating oil of the reducer is sufficient, and whether the oil inlet and return valves are open;

(3) Whether the main bearing bush and various lubricating oils are clean, the amount of oil should be appropriate, and the oil circulation system and water cooling system should be unblocked without leakage;

(4) The ventilation system and the material conveying system should be unblocked, free from clogging of debris and no leakage;

(5) The ventilation system should be well sealed, the valves for adjusting materials and air flow, and the air locking devices should be opened and closed flexibly;

(6) The safety and lighting equipment should be complete, and the signal system should be intact;

(7) Check whether the feeding device is in good condition, and the metering system should be accurate, otherwise it should be calibrated and approved before starting up;

(8) Close the throttle gate of each fan to reduce the starting load;

(9) When starting up in winter, the lubricating oil should be raised according to the situation.

3. Coordinate and cooperate with other positions

(1) Prepare all kinds of raw materials, and understand their moisture, particle size and grindability;

(2) Contact electricians and air compressor stations for power, air, and air supply, and check whether the voltage and air pressure meet the requirements;

(3) Get in touch with the upper and lower processes in time to ensure the normal start-up of the equipment;

(4) After completing all the above, further contact with each post, irrelevant personnel are not allowed to approach the equipment, after confirming that it is correct, send out the start signal, and then start in order.
