Reasons and Measures for Tearing of Belt Conveyor Belt

The tearing of the belt conveyor belt mainly occurs at the position of the blanking port at the tail of the machine.
The main reasons for the tearing are as follows:
1. The belt is torn due to foreign matter in the conveying material
The material conveyed by the belt conveyor is mixed with foreign matter, which causes damage to the belt body when it falls from the blanking port. In severe cases, it directly penetrates the conveyor belt and gets stuck on the hopper frame or roller, causing the conveyor belt to tear.
The conveying material is mixed with large pieces of material stuck between the guide chute baffle and the buffer roller, and long-term friction will cause the conveyor belt to wear and tear.
2. The drop point of the belt conveyor is large
The falling point of the belt conveyor is too large, causing a severe impact between the material and the conveyor belt, causing the conveyor belt to tear.
3. The belt is torn due to deviation
During the operation of the belt, there are more deviations in one direction, belt wrinkles, tension and scratches cause belt tears.
4. The scraper of the head empty section cleaner hangs metal or other debris on the surface of the belt to grind the belt through.
5. The aging of the conveyor belt
If conveying high temperature or corrosive materials, it will accelerate the aging of the conveyor belt. The belt is prone to tearing when it is worn out for a long time. The aging of the edge rubber of the conveyor belt joint causes water to enter the core layer of the conveyor belt, causing corrosion and leakage of the internal steel wire rope, and also causing tearing.
6. Roller falls off
The middle idler on the frame falls off so that the conveyor belt is directly pressed on the support frame, and the heavy-duty conveyor belt runs on the support frame and causes the belt to tear.
There are the following measures to prevent the belt conveyor belt from tearing:
1. Control the quality of conveyed materials, feed them uniformly, increase impurity removal equipment, and reduce foreign matter entry;
2. Improve the structure of the conveyor to prevent excessive drop at the blanking point and reduce the impact on the belt;
3. Improve the quality of the conveyor belt, improve the wear resistance of the upper cover rubber, and prevent the internal steel wire core from leaking;
4. Check the conveyor belt regularly, and replace the conveyor belt in time when it is found to be aging and the conveyor belt core is leaking.
