The grinding ball mill is not a single device, it also includes many categories, such as ceramic ball mill, lattice type ball mill, rod mill and other short long, today small specific classification of grinding ball mill are introduced, so that we can have a further understanding of the ball mill.
1 According to length
Short mill: The ratio of length to diameter is lower than 2, which is used for coarse grinding or grinding, it can also be used in series 2-3 grinding ball mill.
Medium length mill: The length to diameter ratio is about 3.
Long mill: The length to diameter ratio is above 4.
2 According to the shape of grinding media
Steel ball mill: The grinding medium is mainly steel ball or steel, which is most widely used.
Rod mill: The steel rod with a diameter of 50 - 100mm is used as grinding medium. The ratio of length to diameter of the rod mill is generally 1.5-2.
Rod ball mill: This mill usually has a 2-4 silo, put into a cylindrical steel rod as a grinding medium in the first warehouse, other warehouses are loaded steel ball or steel.
The length-diameter ratio of the rod ball mill should be 5, the rod length is about 100mm, which is in favor of the parallel arrangement of the steel bar, and prevents the cross and the disorderly stick.
Pebble ball mill: The grinding media, such as gravel, pebble, ceramic ball, etc.. Liner is made of granite and ceramic materials. Pebble ball mill can be used for white or color cement and ceramic production.
3 Classified by transmission
Center drive ball mill: The motor drives the mill to rotate the hollow shaft of the mill discharging end through the speed reducer. The center line of the output shaft of the speed reducer is in a straight line with the center line of the mill.
Edge driven ball mill: The motor is driven to rotate by a big gear which is fixed on the unloading end cylinder and is driven by a motor through a speed reducer.
4 Other categories
According to the process operation, it can be divided into dry grinding ball mill, wet ball mill, intermittent ball mill and continuous ball mill. Compared with the intermittent continuous ball mill, ball mill, the former high yield, product consumption per unit weight is less, high degree of mechanization and required less operators. But the cost of infrastructure investment is more, operation and maintenance is more complex. Now intermittent ball mill is rarely used.
