The Role of Screw Conveyor Hoisting Bearing Device

Screw conveyor is a device that relies on the rotation of spiral blades to drive materials to move. When the length of the screw conveyor is too long, the screw spindle will sag due to the deformation of the length and material, and friction between the screw blades and the pipe body will occur. Therefore, when the screw conveyor is too long, a hanging bearing device will be added in the middle of the screw shaft. Avoid sagging and abrasion of the pipe body of the spiral blade shaft.

The suspension bearing device is one of the important components of the screw conveyor. The characteristics of the material should be considered when designing. In order to extend the service life of the equipment and reduce the failure rate of the equipment, it is sometimes necessary to improve the main components according to the different materials to reduce the wear of the components.

The service life of the suspension bearing represents the service life of the screw. Therefore, after the suspension bearing device is damaged, the screw cannot be used normally. The suspension bearing device should be lubricated by adding lubricating oil frequently during the use process to prevent the suspension bearing from being worn out due to excessive friction due to lack of oil. The suspension bearing can also ensure the concentricity of the screw shaft under normal working conditions, and prevent the screw shaft blades and the pipe body from wearing, damaging the blades and generating resistance and noise.

There are three common types of suspension bearings: rolling suspension bearings, sliding suspension bearings, and suspension bearings

1. Rolling hoist bearing: adopts 80,000 type sealed bearings, and the hoist bearing is equipped with a dust-proof protective cover. It is used in places where oil is not easy to refuel and the oil contaminates the material. The hoisting bearing has a long life and the conveying material temperature is ≤80℃.

2. Sliding suspension bearing: MC wear-resistant nylon tile, as well as copper-based graphite oil-less lubricating tile, which is commonly used when conveying materials with high temperature> 80℃or conveying liquid materials

3. Suspension bearing: The bearing material is changed from the traditional powder alloy, casting and rolling bearing to tile and sleeve. The high-strength wear-resistant alloy material is heat-treated. Such a suspension bearing is wear-resistant, has no requirements for sealing and lubricating oil, and has a longer service life. The original bearing is extended by 2-5 times.

The number of hanging bearing devices of screw conveyors increases as the length of the screw conveyor increases. Generally, a hanging bearing device should be added at the maximum length of the screw spindle not exceeding 3m. The working quality of the intermediate hanging bearing will directly affect the work of the screw conveyor. In some cases, the hanging bearing device generally adopts a sliding hanging bearing, and in some cases, a rolling bearing is also used. In all cases, it should be ensured that it has a reliable seal, and it is equipped with an oil cup for lubrication and prolonged service life.
