1. Check the main components before installation, such as cylinder, gears, quillshaft, reducer, etc. If they exist damage or deformation, repair it first.
2. Clean the parts before installation. Some parts which exist installing direction, such as stepped lining plate, spiral feed, raising plate, etc., must be installed as per technical instructions.
3. After two main bearing bases have been amounted, check the relative level and make sure the tolerance is less than 1.5mm.The feeding end cannot be lower than discharge end. When the two main bearing finish the installation, their longitudinal center lines should coincide within the tolerance of 0.8mm. Meanwhile, the horizontal center lines should parallel within the tolerance of 0.9mm.
4. The contact area between big and small gears should not be less than 60% in gear height and 80% in hear width.
5. When the lining plate is being installed, the tolerance between two lining plates should be in the scope of 5-10mm. Assemble carefully the packing of fixed bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts to prevent the ore powder leakage and lining plate loosing.
6. After the gear cover is done the assembly, it should not occur that the oil leakage and gear impacting. All the joint surface must be equipped with seals.
Give a trial running to the ball mill both at the status of no-load and full-load after the whole installation. The ball mill begin to work with the good running ender the two status. The user should set up a complete system to guarantee the smooth running according to the actual situation, such as operation, maintenance, inspection and repair.
Tips for maintenance:
1. Check whether there is noise during the running of reducer and the vibration.
2. Check anchor bolts, lining plate bolts and mill door bolts usually. Screw down in time if there were bolts loosing. Check and tighten the new lining plate bolts during each shift.
3. Check all seal rings, replace seal rings in time if worn.
4. Pay attention and notice current change of motor. If there is something unusual, the user should stop and check the mill.
5. Daily and periodical inspection are essential for the ball mill, so that the user could find and solve the failures as soon as possible. Periodically inspect the connection of main components (quillshaft, main bearing, cylinder, reducer, big gear, small gear, etc.). If the user finds the failures during the inspection, the repair and maintenance should be handled according to failure situation and recorded as a reference for heavy maintenance.

7. When the first grease feeding had used for one month, the maintainer should discharge grease all, clean parts and feed grease again. Exchange grease at next medium maintenance (about six months).
