Silicon thermal refining magnesium plant, parts of them use rotary kiln calcined dolomite. Dolomite calcined by a rotary kiln has the advantages of high productivity, high degree of mechanization, simple maintenance, high activity of calcination, low decrement of burning and no matter the structure of dolomite, the calcination effect is good as long as the process conditions are controlled, vowel is the main rotary kiln radiation heat transfer and convection heat transfer.
Rotary kiln requires a smaller dolomite particle size (5 ~ 25mm), kiln inner material with the rotation of the kiln, full roll, enhanced radiation heat transfer process, the material is heated evenly, the calcination is complete, the calcination temperature is easy to control. Compared with the shaft kiln, it is twice as raw material utilization, up to 90% or more. Production practice has proved that the rotary kiln to produce a high degree of calcined white activity, magnesium extraction rate and the utilization of silicon is relatively high.
There are many types of fuels used in rotary kilns. Gas fuel generator gas, semi-water gas, coke oven gas; liquid fuel oil diesel, heavy oil, crude oil; solid fuel oil coal, metallurgical coke powder.
Rotary kiln commonly used in the following types.
1. Straight type rotary kiln The Cylinder shape is straight. The inner diameter of the cylinder of the kiln is the same as that of the kiln tail. The kiln is easy to manufacture and install. The filling coefficient of the material in the kiln is consistent and the moving speed is even.
(2) Kiln head enlargement This type of kiln due to expansion of combustion space, kiln heating capacity can be increased, is conducive to increasing production.
(3) Kiln tail enlargement The kiln can improve the kiln preheating capacity, reduce the kiln tail wind speed and exhaust gas temperature, save energy consumption, the kiln heat transfer area under the same conditions, and the kiln can be expanded to shorten the kiln.
(4) Enlarged at both ends Both the advantages of the above rotary kiln, but the manufacture and installation more complicated, due to the simple process of calcined dolomite, rarely used in this kiln type.
At present, most manufacturers of magnesium plant use the front three kiln types, but also use the kiln itself comes with multi-cylinder cooling equipment and other kiln type.
