Working Principle, Characteristics & Classification of Mixing Tank
1. Introduction to mixing tank
The stirring tank is used to stir the slurry before the flotation operation, so that the slurry and chemicals are fully mixed, creating conditions for the optional ore operation. It has the advantages of low energy consumption, low chemical consumption and long life, and is widely used in fields such as metal and non-metal mineral processing, gold leaching, metallurgy and chemical industries.
2. Stirring tank structure and working principle
Preparation of slurry is usually carried out in a mixing tank. The mixing tank is a cylindrical tank made of steel plates; a transmission mechanism is installed on the upper part of the drum, and there is a stirring impeller at the lower end of the vertical shaft in the center of the drum. There is a casing on the periphery of the vertical axis to receive the slurry. There are branch pipes on the casing. The slurry circulates through these pipes under the action of stirring. The stirred slurry overflows from the overflow port to the flotation machine for flotation.
The main function of the mixing tank is to protect the slurry from having sufficient contact and action time with the chemicals, and it also plays the role of buffering, distributing, stirring or lifting the slurry. Its production capacity is determined by the volume of the barrel, the concentration of the slurry, and the contact and stirring time required between the ore particles and the agent.
3. Characteristics of mixing tank
3.1 Strong stirring ability, different circulation cylinder structure, equipped with overflow port and slurry lifting pipe, good stirring effect.
3.2 Stir and mix evenly. The stirring blades are fan-shaped and have a large contact area with the medium during stirring.
3.3 Compact structure, good sealing, small equipment size, small floor space, relatively economical and applicable.
3.4 Simple structure and convenient maintenance and operation.
4. Classification of mixing tanks
The stirring tank is an indispensable equipment in the flotation production process. According to different uses, it can be divided into four types: slurry mixing tank, mixing storage tank, lifting mixing tank and chemical mixing tank.
1. Slurry mixing tank. It is used to stir the ore slurry before flotation operation, so that the ore particles are suspended and fully contacted and mixed with the chemicals, thereby creating conditions for the mineral processing operation.
2. Stirring storage tank. Used for slurry mixing and storage, not only in mineral processing applications, but also in other industries. When ferrous and non-ferrous metal concentrates and coal slurry are transported through pipelines, large mixing storage tanks are also required.
3. Lift the mixing tank. It has both stirring and lifting functions, and the lifting height can reach 1.2m. It is used to stir and lift the slurry when the self-flow height difference of the slurry is insufficient or the amount of slurry is too small to be pumped.
4. Chemical mixing tank. It has the dual function of stirring the medicine slurry and storing the medicine slurry, and is equipped with a water supply system to the mixing tank. It has a medicine delivery device that can transport the stored medicine slurry outward. Between the medicine stirring tank and the medicine storage tank An electric valve is used to control the discharge of the slurry. The stirring tank can be used in flotation plants to prepare various chemicals.
