The New Revolution of Sludge Roasting
In sludge treatment has become a new topic with the increasingly stringent environmental requirements today. Sludge treatment methods are also varied, but the effect is not good, some methods cost too much, and some methods produce second pollution. According to the different granulating process, sludge ceramics process is divided into two kinds: plastic method process and kiln pelletizing process.
The plastic method is that different components of raw materials are metered and mixed, which is granulated by using the roller type granulation machine and transfered to double drum rotary kiln to be fired. The process of granulation moisture has certain requirements, so silt raw materials should be dryed to achieve the requirements of granulation moisture. In general, a number of ingredients or a small amount of admixture are needed in the process. Therefore, the uniform degree of raw material is very important to ceramic firing expansion effect. In this process, roller type granulation machine is mainly used for the granulation, the sintering ceramic is oval or short column.
In fact, the process of kiln granulation is a kind of plastic method. Because of the high water content of the sludge, adopting the plastic method is often difficult to make granulation because of the high moisture, which affects the normal production, and the kiln granulation process can be a good solution to this problem. Practice shows that the water content of the raw materials in the kiln can be allowed to reach 40% ~ 30%. But as the raw materials water can increase coal consumption of ceramsite, it is not favorable on energy saving and emission reduction.
Kiln granulating process is mainly that the mixed plastic slurry is transported to the rotary kiln and depend on the kiln chain to granulate. The hot flue gas side is used to form the material and be dryer at the same time, which is in accordance with the requirements of the expansion.
Under normal circumstances, the sludge from sewage treatment plant and paper mill are dryed in the sun and then they are crushed, stirred and granulated. But for sludge containing high water, direct granulation is difficult, so we should choose the kiln granulation process, and then directly roast, so that it can meet the technical requirements of sludge granulation. This technology also solved the technical problems that sludge with high content water can not be achieved in the firing of ceramic baking.
